"IT"

Muthah wonders today what ever happened to "It"--the scooter-type thing that had us guessing for months. It was supposed to revolutionize the way we get around-one had only to think where one wanted to go, and it went there. But I've never seen one, not even one. Maybe "It" thought its way out of existence. Anybody??

Are you thinking about Segways? They still exist....

I don't know what they're called now. I just know we wondered for a year what the "It" was going to be.

Where has the good son been?

I thought I wanted a Segway but I figured that I fall down enough, just walking on my own two feet.

I'm with Jules. I'm a klutz. One of those would just make me get on the ground a few seconds faster.

First, I'm glad that somebody not family reads my blog occasionally.

I have, in the past year, gone from a cane, to a three-wheeled walker to a walker with a seat, so the Segway would surely dump me, too.

The other day I was coming back into the house, stepped with my left leg over a section of garden hose, and absolutely could not lift my right leg. Psychological paralysis, I'm sure. I called two young boys over, and they acted as if I was the wicked witch or something, inching their way toward me. When I told them all I wanted was for one of them to stand by me and let me put my hand on his shoulder, they were happy to oblige.

We, in this country, live in such fear, and it's really sad. I can remember a time when we regularly picked up hitchhikers or stopped to help somebody with car trouble--but no more! Our government has been so paranoid since 9/11 that they're making us fear being anywhere at all, especially in a crowd--but even in the "security" of our own homes. It's just all too sad.

Maybe one day this old lady will learn how to leave a comment without leaving a blank space. Sorry.
