HERE SHE IS

A few days after "Anonymous" told me I was ugly inside and out, a friend and I were having breakfast at a Perkins. As we were leaving, a woman and a young boy were coming in, and she said, "Let the beautiful woman pass." I gave her a quizzical look, and she said, "Yes, I mean you." So, here's the ugly woman.

Anon's comment was "ugly on the inside."

"Age before beauty," was the old line.

"But Beauty was a horse!" was the retort from age!

P.S. Wyn, let me be clear, you have at least two "anons" leaving comments that I know of....

Let it go. Move on. Surely you have something to say other than knee-jerk reacting? Engage that brain of yours!

Let's hear what you have to say about Hillary or Obama or McCain or Huckabee. What are the locals saying?

What new birds are you seeing at your feeder? (I had a Northern Shrike the other day. Killed and flew off with a sparrow not that much smaller. Didn't think they wintered this far South?)

It is becoming clear to me that I have at least two, and maybe more, "anons" responding. That's okay, but I wish I knew who you were.

Anonymous February 15,

Finally a thinker reading here. I will admit that I did react a little hastily and with some rancor about non-smoking to anon 1--but I apologized.

I do not trust Hillary. I live in Michigan and am very angry about our not being able to vote in the primary--but it seems that all our votes that we didn't cast may just go to Hillary. If you're wondering, I would have voted for Dennis Kucinich, with with whom I agree on just about every issue. However, because he isn't "pretty", has jug ears and no money, I knew that he was not electible from the start. I sincerely hope Obama gets nominated and gets to be President. This Bush administration is the worst I've ever experienced, and I think that my grandchildren's grandchildren will be still cleaning up the mess we're in.

I wish I could tell you all sorts of wonderful birds come to my feeder. The most I see is a chickadee or two--but lots of goldfiches in the summer. There's a tiny grey squirrel who seems to have taken up residence here, eating all the sunflower seeds and tunneling through the snow to get to the feeders. So, of course, the birds stay away. I call the bird feeders "cat television" because my three sit and watch for hours our little grey friend, who isn't in the least afraid of them. Here in the UP there are lots of crows and seagulls, but I'm not an outside person, so I don't get into the woods where the birds are.
